Many of my sculptures are influenced through my experiences of travel. Exploring the illuminated night city of Bangkok, Thailand, I was amazed by the light and shadows of the electric city. "Discovery" is a portal to another world for the viewer to be pulled into. Using many layers of wood, I built an abstract composition, using the textures of the wood to create another dimension. The dark blues, purples, and touches of red contrast with the intensity of the yellows and golds to draw the viewer into this artwork. I also used other mixed media fabrics to create an ethereal feeling.
