This stump-like, sculptural concrete Palm table takes its form from stitched-together pieces of palm tree seedpods. Its texture, prominent but not rough, calls out for a dance of the fingers, with crevices a climber would dream of. At roughly 15"" diameter round by 16"" tall, it is no mountain but nonetheless a firm presence that can occupy an alcove or atrium alike, or outdoors in a garden. Can work as a side table or as a seat, accommodating a thicker pillow or cushion to raise it to standard sitting height. It takes inspiration from rustic, organic modern, and wabi-sabi design.
Weighs about 40 pounds and one person can lift and move relatively easily. Handpacked concrete made with Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) techniques, recycled glass, and high quality components. Felt pads on bottom allow for smooth, scratch-free sliding on any surface. Sealed and waxed to prevent stains, but retains a matte look.
