This large 8 foot x 4 foot painting is the focal point in the reception of the Colony West Golf Clubhouse in Tamarac, Florida. Awarded as part of an "art in public places" competition, the painting is done on aluminum for strength and longevity. The painting was created using a high-powered compressor to layer paint, starting with a negative removal method and canvas embedded paint for texturing on the base art. The limited use of just three colors makes the image pop in the seating area that was designed around the artwork. Similar work can be commissioned.

I seek to bring beauty and joy to the spaces I have been honored to fill with art.

Katherine Larson has over 50 years of experience in painting murals and commissioned works. Her work can be found in museums, restaurants, healthcare facilities and private collections across the U.S. She is most known for her painted murals but also creates fine art paintings. She has been commissioned for over 200 murals ranging from representational art to abstract works. Katherine’s style is vibrant and colorful, utilizing a modern form of indirect painting to obtain the greatest amount of visual depth in her work.

Katherine is also the illustrator of 10 nationally distributed children’s books. Some of her titles from Sleeping Bear Press include: “G is for Grand Canyon” awarded the Grand Canyon Reader’s Award, “M is for Melody” and “A is for Arches- a Utah Alphabet Book”
