My large scale paintings transform interior spaces with light, color, emotion and beauty.

I create abstract oil paintings on canvas, inspired by the beauty of our diverse planet. My paintings move between the language of color and abstraction, seeking balance, light, form and distant horizons.

American painter, Donna Bruni is known for creating atmospheric paintings with broad, richly layered planes of color. Her compositions are based on form and flux of natural and urban environments. Daily observation of changing light, air, water, wind, earth, sky, seasons and life cycles become contextual elements for her meditative works on canvas. In the studio, her process focuses on mood, as layers of color are applied. The process involves mixing oil pigment on large canvases with a palette knife, building, scraping, lifting or brushing out areas to reveal detail beneath the surface.
