MA Bench by Donatas Zukauskas

A large sculptural bench with a biomorphic form and the grounded presence of something architectural. The MA bench is conceived first as a seating object — built to carry weight, designed to be used — and second as a spatial accent: an object substantial enough to anchor a room. The solid oak seat provides natural warmth and comfort; the stone-look composite base provides mass, character, and the suggestion of permanence.

Construction begins with a reinforced internal structure engineered to carry substantial weight — structural performance is the foundation, not an afterthought. Only once that integrity is established does the sculptural form develop around it. The result is an object that feels as solid as it looks: the composite base, dense and stone-like, paired with a solid oak surface finished with food-safe oils for warmth and long-term durability.

Surface irregularities in the base are preserved intentionally — the speckled, raw composite finish reads as cast stone, but with the warmth and slight give of a material that began its life as paper. Imperfection as a way to create beauty.

Each piece is handmade and unique — minor variations in texture and form are intentional and part of the design. Made-to-order. Custom dimensions available on request. Trade pricing available. Ships internationally. Lead time 4–8 weeks.

Designed, crafted and built by Donatas Zukauskas — a Lithuanian sculptor and designer whose practice is grounded in the belief that furniture should feel stable, honest, and materially present."MA Bench by Donatas Zukauskas

Third Tree Life

Sculptural furniture and interior objects for residential and hospitality projects. Trade pricing and custom commissions available for interior designers and architects.

“Imperfection as a way to create beauty” defines my work. Cracks, splits, and unpredictable textures are intentionally embraced and shaped into expressive, sculptural forms.

I am an interior designer and creator based in Lithuania, with over 15 years of experience. I work with a unique concrete-like material made primarily from paper pulp — strong like wood, visually similar to concrete, and slightly elastic, allowing for durable yet organic surfaces.

My works are featured in private interiors across the USA, UK, Australia, and France, including hospitality projects such as the Sheraton Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
