I’m Raúl Fernández Carretero, an artist from Madrid, Spain, exploring different ways of creating and discovering myself through the artistic process.
Photography, writing and sculpture are among the mediums through which I observe, interpret and connect with the world around me. My creative practice is deeply intertwined with nature, whose forms, textures and rhythms offer me a sense of balance and a constant source of inspiration.
My project La Piel del Bosque (The Skin of the Forest) began in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, where I collected bark fragments following forestry pruning. Drawn to their colours, textures and expressive forms, I chose to preserve them as sculptural works in their own right, inviting others to discover the beauty that can exist in what is often overlooked.
I’m currently continuing this exploration through wood and other natural materials, allowing curiosity, observation and the creative process itself to guide me towards new forms of expression.
