* These two in the photos have sold. As stated, I can make more to order. Each will be unique depending on the actual piece of wood. thank you, Paul.**
A reclaimed barnwood accent stool[two available now], hand finished using the ancient Japanese Yakisugi technique — charred with flame, hand sanded to reveal the grain, and oiled multiple times to bring out the natural figure of the wood.
The result is a surface that looks centuries old and will last centuries more.
Built from reclaimed barnwood salvaged from historic Western New York barns and buildings — some of it originally harvested 150- 200 years . Logs that was headed for a bonfire. Given a second life in my chainsaw carvings.
The CNC carved wooden peg details on the top and sides are a signature Paul's Green Barn design element — they reference the traditional joinery of an earlier era and make every piece immediately recognizable.
Assembled without nails or screws. Two wooden wedges draw everything up tight and can be removed to break the piece down flat for shipping or storage.
Works beautifully as a plant stand, accent stool, side table, or display pedestal. Strong enough to sit on. Light enough to move easily.
— Dimensions: 12" W x 12" D x 12" H
— Material: Reclaimed hemlock barnwood
— Finish: Yak charred, hand sanded, Danish oil
— Weight: approximately 8-10 lbs.
— Indoor use recommended
Each piece is one of a kind. The wood decides what it wants to be — grain pattern, natural checks, and character marks vary piece to piece. That's not a flaw. That's the point.
Custom sizes and finish variations available. DM me directly to discuss.
