This table is made of walnut and maple. The legs and lower rung have been steam bent to form the desired curves. The top is held down with sliding dovetails that pass though the maple X apron and are parallel to the seasonal expansion of the table top. This hold the table down flat and allows it to move while mitigating cupping. No screws were used in the making of this table, just joinery and a little glue.

Mark's business Designed with Purpose, produces unique furnishings expertly crafted from hardwoods and other select materials. All designs undergo rigorous prototyping to ensure striking aesthetics, optimal ergonomics, while maintaining superior quality. Whenever possible Mark employs principles of traditional woodworking that have stood the test of time. By designing with mechanical wood on wood joinery, the pieces will last significantly longer than that of those which rely solely on screws and glue.
