Lucille lives next door to my mom. The first time I saw her, she strolled out of the hedge like she had somewhere important to be. She's a pale, creamy-white cat with faint orange markings and the kind of presence that makes you stop and pay attention.
She knows everyone on the block and has no problem making herself at home, wherever she pleases. This painting captures her mid-stride, doing exactly that!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Catherine Hébert is a wildlife and animal artist based in Montreal, Canada. She has a background in visual effects and brings that same eye for detail and colour to every painting. Many of her pieces are inspired by real animals she's met. A crow on a hotel balcony in DC, a round pigeon in a Seoul subway station, a pheasant who keeps showing up in her sister's yard in Nova Scotia. She also paints live during her weekly Thursday evening livestream, where viewers hang out, chat, and sometimes even name the paintings!
