Hand-formed stoneware pieces, with sgraffito and bas relief carved in the style of 'Starry Night' and reduction fired. The pieces shown here are representative and not specifically available. Commissions on pieces in this style are available, but specific graphic interpretation will vary with each piece, and direct replication is not available. Production time listed is the time necessary for design and execution of each piece, but additional time may be added depending on production requirements at the time the commission is placed.

Lori Theriault is potter and owner of Crazy Green Studios in Asheville, NC. Lori has made a name for herself creating beautiful, custom service wares in collaboration with chefs and food professionals across the country. During pandemic shut downs, she was able to explore design work that had been on her mind for sometime, and her "Vincent Series" was born. Influenced completely by the Impasto style of Vincent Van Gogh, and in great part by his "Starry Night" masterpiece, Lori interprets and explores the movement of the sky in short, individual sgraffito and/or carving strokes to create works small and large.

On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina, including Asheville's River Arts District. Both of Lori's studios, her main studio within the collective of The Village Potters Clay Center, and her production studio, were located on the first floor of her building situated directly across the street from the French Broad River. The river rose 26.5 feet, flooded with a force greater than Niagara Falls, and saturated the building for more than 70 hours before receding. As a result, Lori has lost her studio, equipment, materials, and tools. She worked throughout 2025 in a temporary studio to create a new body of work for wholesale, and to maintain her current clientele. As of March 2026, she is navigating a commercial lease for a new space, and once signed will be working on upfits to turn it into a full production studio with gallery. Until she has a firm opening date, she is not taking any new commissions, but always welcomes inquiries.
