Part of the four-piece Redwood Reverence collection, this one-of-a-kind side table transforms richly figured redwood burl into a layered piece of functional art.

Two separate burl compositions are suspended within a minimalist black steel frame. The upper slab serves as the tabletop, while the lower level creates a sculptural shelf that can be appreciated through the open frame. Natural edges, voids, and fractured forms remain deliberately visible, preserving the landscape created by the tree.

A light wood bow tie spans a dramatic separation in the upper slab, accompanied by a contrasting black bow tie. Within the collection, these bow ties represent bridges in the woods—connections between separated forms and a path between the past and what lies ahead.

The crystal-clear, high-gloss epoxy finish amplifies the redwood’s fiery amber, copper, and burgundy figure. Against the restrained geometry of the black steel frame, the irregular burl appears almost like a landscape held inside an architectural structure.

Inspired by a blissful walk through Muir Woods with my boyfriend and daughter, Redwood Reverence reflects a sense of peace, belonging, and connection beneath the redwoods.

This is the original, one-of-a-kind side table shown and is currently available for purchase. Handcrafted in San Francisco by DapperwoodSF.
