"Trouvaille." 2024 A piece of the Wandering Collection. A girl with long dark hair, traveling through an expansive desert. This piece represents good fortune, prosperity, and discovery. This collection is an expression of traveling through life. A reminder to keep moving forward even when the desert is vast. Is there a particular destination? We set goals, achieve them, and then move to the next. Light and dark, sunshine and rain clouds, we continue to travel forward and change with the seasons of life. The gallery wrapped sides of each piece in this series are painted accordingly to the time of day and weather in the painting. This one has light yellow canvas sides. 24"x24” oil on gallery canvas. Varnished with glossy archival varnish to protect from UV light and humidity. Handsigned. Framing and hanging hardware NOT included. Photos for suggestions. Photos are taken in natural, indoor light. Computer and phone screen color may vary.

Feminine Colorful Dreams

My work is inspired by the many incredible women I have connected with throughout my life. You'll see a play of delicacy and strength, femininity, and resilient power.
After spending almost two decades as a ballet dancer, followed by a long career in women's fashion and merchandising, I chose to step away from it all for a moment of rest. This time in my life allowed me to slip back into the creative space I had been craving for so long.
An abstract nod to the seasons in my painting represent the growth and shifts of the seasons of life, while the landscapes I incorporate into my artwork give the figures a dreamlike place to exist in. Surreal dreamlands, subliminally connecting women to nature and the seasons of the earth. An environment of colorful mountains, deep oceans, and endless skies.
As women, we travel through many stages of life while still being expected to carry on in silent strength. In my figures you'll see confidence, joy, sadness, and sarcasm. An expression paused to reflect on, as if they're allowing you into their thoughts for a moment in time before returning to the expectations of the world.
