The two mosaics were awarded to Paul through a tendering process. After submitting the idea to celebrate the history and culture of Colchester right through from Roman times to present and how these two elements overlap. Using images of historical landmarks such as St Baltolph's Priory, poignant figures like Boadicea, John Constable and Graham Coxon - Paul created a concept that combined all these elements that worked as one. The scale of the works measure 20 square metres in total with each floor inlay working out at 10 square metres.
