Huge statement piece to brighten up any space!

Lots of layers and lots of texture!

This piece is 36"x80" on a 1.5" wooden panel. Encaustic/mixed media on wooden panel. Hangs with a 30" French cleat which is included. The edges are painted soft gray with the occasional yummy wax drip. Signed, titled and dated on the back.

I work in many layers, often tucking things in or masking something out, sometimes repeating the entire process. It’s completely process driven, an energetic dialogue of responses and reactions. The resulting surfaces are usually thick, marred & textured, and rich with bits and secrets that drive the process, but are often hidden in the end.

An Alabama native, Gina lived in several places around the South before returning to her hometown in north Alabama in 2021 . She is a self-taught artist working in mixed media as well as encaustic. She has been exhibiting her work since 2003.
