The Verdant Shimmer — Japanese Ceremonial Silk Table Runner, Stripe in Midori and Silver - Linens & Bedding
Price $351
Midori. The green that grows. Described in Japanese colour nomenclature as the green of new foliage and moss — woven here with silver kinginsha that reads as rain light on water. The runner is drawn from a Japanese ceremonial silk obi — pure silk woven with silver metallic thread in a vertical stripe construction with chevron-formed geometric divisions. The Nishijin-ori technique integrates kinginsha thread without disrupting the drape, producing a surface that carries the fluid movement of pure silk and the reflective quality of woven silver. The midori gives the composition its life. The silver gives it its shimmer. A runner for a table set in daylight: the silver stripe wakes with the morning and settles by evening. The runner is lined in undyed silk to protect the face. No metal touches the visible silk. Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life. Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.
