During the pandemic, a season that felt bitter and uncertain, I turned to painting as a way to hold onto peace.
These impressionist red apples became a symbol of what sustained me the sweetness of God’s Word. Just as Psalm 119:103 says, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” this piece is a reminder that even in the hardest times, His Word carries a sweetness that restores and comforts the soul.
I read Psalm 91 and that was it.
