Description / Story: Most pieces start with a sketch I draw myself. I'm a runner. My route went from Midtown Reno all the way out to Idyllwild Park and back. That fall, every time my foot hit the ground, I could see it — the leaves, those colors, the river running beside them, the contrast of blue cutting through all that warm. I thought: I have to make something out of this. That's The Pearl. Kate, the founder of Pearl Studios, fell in love with it. She took it home. It lives there now.
