Josh's grandparents — the abuelitos — have been together for over sixty years. You can't buy something for people like that. You have to make something. Something that will last, that they'll keep, that means what it's supposed to mean. The fluffy fringe was intentional — a nod to their last name. León. The lion. They still have it, hanging in their home. Every time I walk through their door and see it, I smile. Because it reminds me of what love actually is — not a permanent state you arrive at, but a choice.
