Industrial Table — Cast Iron Machine Bases and Reclaimed Barnwood
Description:
Two antique cast iron industrial bases — salvaged from manufacturing equipment, their original function now architectural — support a reclaimed barnwood top of exceptional grain and character. A lower shelf in matching reclaimed wood adds storage presence and visual weight. Expanded metal mesh panels complete the base, referencing the industrial origin of the iron without apology.
This is the meeting point of two American material traditions — the agricultural and the industrial — in a single functional object. The cast iron carries the weight and permanence of the factory floor. The barnwood carries the warmth and history of the farm. Together they produce something neither tradition achieves alone.
The piece shown was displayed in a retail design environment — the copper pendant light above it was not incidental. This table commands its surroundings and responds to thoughtful lighting.
Available for commission. Cast iron base sourcing varies — each commission will differ based on available industrial iron. That variation is inherent to the process and the point. Thank you, Paul
Dimensions: Approximately 48"L × 48"W × 42"H
Material: Antique cast iron industrial bases, reclaimed barnwood top and shelf, expanded metal mesh
Finish: Natural iron patina, hand oiled barnwood
