The Mushroom Light is a sculptural stainless steel floor lamp by Nitush Aroosh. Its silhouette is immediately familiar, but its material treatment is entirely unexpected — a richly crumpled stainless steel surface, produced through controlled pressure, transforms an everyday form into something quietly extraordinary.
The crumpled texture is embedded within the steel itself through hydroforming and hand-working. Both emitted and ambient reflected light become active elements of the design, shifting with every change in the room's illumination.
Understated in outline but complex in surface, the Mushroom Light works equally as a primary light source or as a design accent in any setting where materially rich objects are valued.
Nitush Aroosh is the New Delhi-based collectible design studio of brothers Nitush and Aroosh Mahipal. Their practice uses hydroforming and hand-hammering to push stainless steel beyond its industrial origins — into forms that are fluid, reflective, and alive with light.
