The Grand Canyon Centre Table is a sculptural stainless steel centre table by Nitush Aroosh, part of the Grand Canyon Collection. Its surface is drawn directly from the layered cliff faces of the Grand Canyon — the texture deepened and made more pronounced to evoke geological stratification, translating the drama of a vast landscape into the scale of a domestic object.
Each piece is shaped through hydroforming and hand-hammering, the surface developed more deeply than in the studio's earlier work. The result reads like geological cross-sections: layered, tactile, and carrying the visible record of forces applied over long periods.
Mirror-polished sides catch and distort light with striking intensity, evoking the dramatic light conditions of canyon walls. Matte tops provide calm contrast — smooth and still against the richly worked surfaces below.
Wide and low, the table holds a commanding presence that deepens on closer inspection, the surface revealing increasing complexity the nearer one approaches.
