A series inspired by the textures in nature. Melissa transposed this texture into abstract works of art using modelling paste and natural inks. Melissa mindfully mixed her handcrafted walnut ink into modeling paste. She used a palette knife to apply the modelling paste and then added repurposed artisanal fabric and Loloi Loren Terracotta/Sky rug remnants to form these abstract pieces.

*The floater frame is made locally from unfinished Canadian Ash Hard Wood (2”deep).
