26 light-bulbs are stuck together like a cluster of bubbles. One light-bulb is connected to the power-source and burns. This bulb will light up the other bulbs, wich function as a lampshade, diffusing and spreading the light.
When the bulb is burned out: simply screw the lamp-holder on to an other bulb.

“SPARE” is constructed from 25 classic clear light-bulbs and 1 clear LED-bulb that looks just like a classic bulb. Let a classic bulb or a LED-bulb burn. After +/- 50 years all the bulbs are burned up.

Gentle Brutalist. Functional art / Dysfunctional design.

Gentle Brutalist.

Functional art .
Dysfunctional design.

JAN PAUL’s work crosses over boundaries between design and art . Each new piece adds to, and is part of the story. Conceptual, autonomous, and experimental. No boxes, borders or demands.

“I want to create without concessions and fully explore and crystallize the ideas I have.
Reoccurring themes and directions of thought are the beauty of multiplicity, the marvel hidden in everyday objects, reinterpretation of icons ,exploring the boundaries of new materials, creating the new from the existing.“

The collection consists of limited editions and one-of-a-kind objects. Organically growing and carefully curated. The small and exclusive collection is produced in the Netherlands.
All work is directly for sale through the website and through selected platforms and galleries.
