This textured painting is of a small lakeshore in Sherman, Connecticut. We spent many years on Candlewood Lake where I had my studio. I wanted to capture the feeling of a winter's day when nature is in its dormant phase, before any sign of waking up for spring. Often a nostalgic and melancholic feeling manifests itself on clear winter days. I sought to capture that feeling here.
