Shades of Grey is a custom designed dot composition for a private home. The composition wraps a sharp corner, creating dynamic views from multiple tangents. Each dot is a unique shade of grey organized to play with the eye and create the illusion of motion.

This composition is commissionable as Shades of.... in a range of sizes to suit other unique locations.

James Aarons owns a one-person studio specializing in hand-made ceramic art pieces for hospitality, health care, corporate and residential spaces. Most work is created for site specific placement by art consultants, designers and architects. Repertory includes custom designed Dot Compositions in a broad range of colors, textures and styles; ceramic paintings, prints and drawings; and one-of-a-kind objects produced in collaboration with designers and art consultants.

In addition to wall pieces, I make a series of one of a kind lamps in partnership with Mark Taylor, a collage artist.

This may be a duplicate due to a phone glitch, but James does beautiful work and is a joy to work with. His compositions are lovely and he provides thoughtful input stemming from generosity with his time. The entire process was fun and easy, and his attention to detail and communication are first-rate. I was deeply impressed and appreciative.
