A richly textured diptych layering deep reds, oranges, and purples with fine crackling lines and worn asphalt patterns.
Shot concurrently with Seeing Red #10, this set is an abstract rendering of the painting of the red bus lanes on the 14th Street Corridor in NYC (my local bus), and the marks are made by lots of bicycle tracks criss-crossing through the still-wet red paint. This pairing is unique in the inclusion of purple tones as well as the red rendered more orange. It is a highly textured piece and expresses the movement of the bicycles and includes drips of paint.
For the likes of me, this was a particularly exciting find that resulted in many shots. Again texture is a major theme as well as our starring color of red.
