Sahara’
96 x 210cm
Acrylic on canvas
An inspiration of nature and full of earth’s rugged beauty that reminds you of Sahara rocks belongs to my Quartz series.
The craftmanship of creating rough texture with a spotting brush had been very enjoyable. The minute details highlights a quartz like character and metallic tones of copper run through the painting. Its spontaneous character has been wonderfully overwhelming and fascinating throughout.
This painting is a compelling study in texture and subtle color, evoking a sense of organic intricacy. The earthy palette of ochres, rusts, and soft whites creates a landscape that feels simultaneously abstract and grounded in natural forms. The composition suggests a geological terrain, perhaps the eroded surface of a rocky cliff or the intricate layering of sediment.
The textured surface conveys depth and complexity, with undulating lines and patterns are very inviting that takes you across the canvas. The lighter areas provide moments of calm amidst the denser, busier sections, creating a sense of rhythm and movement. This interplay between chaos and order mirrors natural processes, such as erosion, decay, and renewal.
The work calls for a close examination, as every detail reveals new intricacies and nuances. Its abstract quality leaves room for interpretation, allowing you to see different elements—be it a rugged landscape, a fossilized surface, or the interplay of light on a textured material. It resonates with themes of time, transformation, and the beauty of imperfection.
The final coat of high quality varnish has been given to preserve its freshness.
