This artwork is handmade with the technique of traditional water gilding on gessoed birch ply panel. Various shades of precious gold leaf and self tarnishing silver leaf are applied and burnished for a deep mirror like shine.
Some unvarnished silver leaf on this art work will result in tarnishing which creates various changing color ranges. Ultimately those sections (rocks and front line of trees) will turn a dark gray / black with a blue hint. The other gold colors will remain the way they are. This is intended and part of the ever-changing reality of life.
This piece is solid and includes the hardware to hang on the wall by itself or can be framed.
