In my last year of art school one of my professors challenged me to explore imagery on canvas. I’m not a painter... I’m proud of this painting. Thank you Pamela for encouraging me.

For those of you who are not familiar with Pulcinella’s story.. He is a character from the commedia dell'arte written by Silvio Fiorillo in 1620. The star of southern Italy and considered to be “The Voice of the People”. This character was present throughout my childhood hanging on the wall. In the form of decorative maiolica ceramics from Italy in my parents Ristorante Villa Tragara. Artistic influences can be that subtle.

This character also influenced Palmisano in that very same place Villa Tragara. Sammy went on to become Chef/ Owner of Pulcinella’s Ristorante in South Burlington, Vermont and to win numerous accolades as a Chef.

Now you can enjoy fine Italian Cuisine and art at the same time. Having a good story doesn’t hurt too 😉☺️!
