Permanent Current is a one-of-a-kind wall-mounted sculpture made entirely from aluminum zippers. The twisting, turning line guides the eye in an enchanting flow, circling around and around. The aluminum metal zipper teeth contrast brightly against the black zipper fabric like the brushy lines of a calligraphic stroke.
The zippers are carefully stitched both by sewing-machine and by-hand. In between the layers of zippers, there is one layer of a structural support typically used in corset making, called rigilene.
Hook hardware is provided and connects to d-rings stitched securely to the sculpture guaranteeing a precise attachment.
