"Passiflora" is one of the most interesting paintings of Elena Parau.
It represents a fascinating field of flowers of incredible beauty. They are found especially in South America and they were introduced to Mexico by an Augustinian priest. He heard about them from the Aztecs and the Incas and he associated these flowers with the passion and crucifixion of Jesus. The field with passion flowers at dusk accentuates this state of rare beauty and miracle of nature.
