This robust side table is a one of a kind piece, hand carved from a single solid hardwood log. Its blocky, monolithic form is defined by a striking contrast in texture, balancing a heavily sculpted body with a sleek, polished top. The piece feels grounded and ancient, like a functional artifact hewn from the forest with primitive tools.
The vertical surfaces are covered in a rhythmic pattern of hand gouged marks, creating a honeycomb-like texture that catches the light and invites the touch. This raw, tactile exterior gives way to a smooth, flat top surface that highlights the dark, rich tones of the heartwood. A central hollow adds a dimension of negative space, giving the solid block a sense of mystery and depth.
Created using traditional carving tools to achieve its distinct surface, this table is a celebration of manual craftsmanship. Its sturdy form makes it exceptionally versatile. It functions perfectly as a characterful side table, a rustic stool, or a dramatic pedestal for a plant or sculpture, adding a layer of organic complexity to the room.
