Skiing is one of my most favorite things to do. It is the closest I get to flying! Skiing is exhilarating, and often very cold. I channeled my inner soaring heart when I worked on this painting. Mount Sunapee is the little mountain that could. Sunapee means wild goose in Algonquian, the original Native American tribe to inhabit the area.
This painting is made with an incredible number of layers and took quite a journey to complete. I challenged myself to make the sun burning through the mountaintop with gold applique. It has a presence worthy of our own star! I added a layer of iridescent shimmer as a touch of frost glinting with sunlight on the fallen snow, and of course, snuggled my trademark LOVE in the work!
I like to incorporate the edges of the canvas into my art; this expands the work, giving the viewer a different perspective from each side. I have signed this painting on the front and the back contains the title, materials I used, my name, signature again, the year, and the dimensions. This painting is part of my Altitude Series: large mountain vistas.

1. CRATE
It can be shipped in a wooden crate as it is. Additional shipping costs are associated with this option because of the size and weight of the packaging.
2. ROLLED IN A TUBE
It can be removed from the stretcher bars and rolled in a tube. This option is less expensive and will require a professional framer to restretch your painting for you.
3. LOCAL PICK-UP
I am happy to have you visit my studio to collect your new art.
