"MOUNTAIN RETREAT" 36X60 was a commissioned piece made for Tracy and Charles. There Lake Tahoe property is amazing with a full lake surrounded by majestic mountains. The home is a gathering place for all family members and is very special to them. I rarely work from photos but they wanted it well represented in a piece of artwork. I used my textural work in the base of the trees (eggshells) and my soft carving technique in the trees - which added alot of dimension to the art. I used layers with metallics, acrylics and ink blends. Tracy explained in detail her love for the property and so I wrote the following story to go with the art.

STORY: "Beauty is a word that is beyond description at our Rieckhoff Retreat. Our joyful gathering place for friends and family is a “peace” so special. The home - surrounded by trees, distant hills, valleys and a pond are a visual playground that calls to our hearts. On any given day, the dogs “own” the pond as the deer, ducks, geese and other residences forage on the land."

"In ever constant change, the trees take on the colors for each season. A patchwork quilt colored in yellows, oranges and reds for Fall. The bare trees, seeming lifeless with a wonderland of white adorning the branches in Winter. Then small buds of life appear as we watch the buds grow daily right before our eyes in Spring. The trees now full with leaves providing us the shade much needed in Summer. But be quite, be still, for my favorite part … “the whisper of the wind through trees as the land talks to us”.

Pricng is based on size of art. I build a color palette based on your room and colors you would like to focus on. This can be done locally or remotely. All inquires are welcome.

Calm. Peace. Joy... is how your space should feel to you. I create art that you want to wake up to and live with. Here are some stories and comments from my collectors: "Your art is one of the few things we can agree on"..."I broke my leg and can't go downstairs. My only joy is waking up to your beautiful art"..."After we hung your art I have been rushing home every day to enjoy it with a glass of wine as the sun goes down". Every Artist lives for those types of comments.

I was lucky to have a father that was very artistic. When I was very young we would sit at the kitchen table and sketch everything within our sight. His lessons taught me to ""see" balance, proportion and perspective. I utilized those talents my entire life. Since 2013 I have been a professional artist. Today I am elated to have a following that appreciates and loves my coastal art.

Although I do have art currently available for purchase, I love to do commissioned and custom pieces to fit a specific space with a color palette that compliments the room.

I am an award winning artist and well-know across the country. I have distinctive techniques and the ability to visually create depth of color using my mixture of metallics, acrylics and ink blends coupled with the natural and organic substrates like discarded surfboards, or art panels, into an enduring work of art.

I look forward to exploring the opportunity of working together and showcasing my artwork to those who appreciate the sense of calm and peace that coastal art can bring to their home or office.
