“Lost in the Forest” — Reclaimed Wood Wall Sculpture
Original Contemporary Wood Art by Craig Forget
“Lost in the Forest” is a meticulously crafted sculptural wall piece created from reclaimed barn wood, transformed through thousands of precise hand cuts into a richly textured, dimensional composition. This artwork evokes the quiet verticality of a forest—inviting the viewer to experience depth, rhythm, and organic movement through wood’s natural language.
Each piece is individually handmade to order, maintaining the integrity and artistic intention of the original while honoring the unique character of the reclaimed materials. Prior to shipment, you will receive detailed photographs for final approval.
Dimensions
48” W × 24” H × 2” D
Custom sizes are available by commission.
Artistic Process
Every element of “Lost in the Forest” is shaped through a slow, deliberate process:
Constructed from authentic reclaimed barn wood, selected for tone, grain, and history
Thousands of hand-cut saw kerf lines—over 4,500—create a shifting interplay of shadow and relief
Individually cut wood sections of varying depths introduce a sculptural, architectural presence
Sealed with two coats of low-VOC archival finish for long-term stability and preservation
The result is a tactile, immersive artwork whose details can only be fully appreciated in person. The depth, tonality, and movement of the wood reward close viewing—qualities highly valued by collectors of contemporary craft and sculptural art.
Presentation & Installation
Signed and dated on the reverse
Outfitted with a custom laser-engraved artist’s tag
Includes a museum-grade wooden French cleat for secure, flush-mount hanging
Suitable for residential, commercial, and hospitality environments
Commission Options
