The inspiration for this one was to forever preserve some vacation mementos. This was also a companion piece for the owner of my oak turquoise inlay coffee table. It had to share some family traits but have its own distinct look. Like two siblings–similar yet uniquely different.
It started with a beautiful live edge spalted rustic oak slab. The end was cut off and used for the top shelf. A collection of vacation bits and pieces were used to fill the wood cavity and then embedded in epoxy resin. Thick rustic end pieces provide the legs. Lateral support comes from a mortised cross piece pegged with a piece of driftwood. Size shown is 32”L” x 24”H x 23”W. Top shelf is 18”L x 23”W

Ron was wonderful to work with. He was engaged and communicative every step of the way. There were a couple of things that caused the work to take a bit longer, but he was on top of checking in with me and it was absolutely worth the wait. I am so happy with how the shelves turned out and it really brought my vision for the space to life. He took a lot of time packing up the shelves so that they would be safe during shipping and even sent the instructions along with the mounts, screws and drill bits needed for installation. Ron's care and expertise is clearly visible in the quality of his craftsmanship.

I was unhappy with the color I picked; and, Ron sent me the material needed to alter them at home myself free of charge. I would provide a picture but I have not hung them yet. It is on my list to do this weekend.

I had an excellent experience working with Ron. Because I had never used this service before, I didn't really know what to expect. Ron approached the project professionally and came ready with more than one idea. I gave him a little more detail in what I was looking for and he came back with a very detailed proposal. It was complete with diagrams and a verbal description so that I could actually see what he was talking about while reading through his design. When the bench was delivered I could see that he had made exactly what I was looking for, if not better! Because of his outstanding work I'm having him make some matching chairs and some bar stools to add to my place. Ron has an outstanding work ethic and produces excellent quality pieces. Working with Ron Cramer to build a media console for our basement was wonderful. He is truly an artist and a genuinely "good guy".
