Experience the architectural elegance of the Ming Dynasty. A timeless legacy, breathing in your living space.
The Concept
This South Official's Hat Chair (Nanguanmaoyi) Trio represents a masterful evolution of the Ming Dynasty scholar's seat, reimagined by designers Yuchen and Judy. The collection is built upon the "Conflict Aesthetic"—using the warmth, scholarly integrity, and rigorous structural purity of the Ming form to provide a profound counterpoint to the cold stone, glass, and industrial minimalism of contemporary Western business environments.
The Craft and Material
Meticulously executed in Imperial Midnight Black-Gold, a rare timber celebrated for its iron-like, sinking-grade density. The visual profile features a deep nocturnal black interlaced with cold, crystalline gold streaks, offering a "Golden Glow" within a midnight void.
The Inlay: Features rare natural burl wood backsplats, where the swirling, intricate grain creates a unique organic contrast to the linear precision of the chair frame.
The Relief: The backsplat features a hand-carved "Jixiang" (Auspicious) emblem, a motif historically reserved for the door lintels of Western Han Dynasty palaces, symbolizing protection and prosperity.
The Engineering: Employs the "Four Legs from One Timber" technique, requiring flawless, large-scale material to ensure absolute structural and visual continuity.
The Structure: 100% handcrafted using traditional nail-free mortise and tenon joinery, ensuring a "Sea-Calming" presence and eternal durability.

The unique black-gold grain, the natural landscapes within the burl wood, and the tactile "obsidian" weight are the fingerprints of the artisan. Please note that the luster of the wood may shift in tone depending on ambient lighting and digital display settings.
