Latency #1 is part of an ongoing series of woven paper portraits exploring perception and delayed recognition. Inspired by digital latency, the work resists immediate clarity, revealing the face only through movement and shifting perspectives. Repurposed wallpaper samples introduce familiarity while creating tension between surface and depth. The portrait feels both present and elusive, reflecting identity as layered, mediated, and gradually perceived.

I fold fragments of the everyday into new forms of memory and meaning.

Paola Bazz is an Anglo-Italian artist and designer whose work transforms recycled printed matter into sculptural paper compositions. Trained in architecture, she approaches each piece as a structure built from fragments of the everyday — folding, cutting, and layering discarded pages into new visual forms. Her works explore identity, memory, and transformation, celebrating the beauty that emerges from renewal and repetition.

The David Bowie print I bought for a client project is stunning and the 3D aspect of it comes through beautifully in the print. Amazing quality!
