Just a Dream", 36×48×.75”, acrylic and pencil on canvas is an original painting by Jocelyn Elizabeth.
This piece marks a return to my studio after life in 2025 pulled me in different directions. A return to painting for no reason other than I need to. Painting this was about playing with color, working large and expressively, and following curiosity. Most importantly, it was about doing what felt fun.
At 36 x 48 inches, the painting held space for me to pour myself into. During this slower season where I’m working with limited materials (continuing my no buy studio year) and limited time, I’m also working with a deeper sense of care. The piece is grounded by a simple composition, and energized by a vibrant color palette and loose mark making. It feels like me.
