This farmhouse kitchen belongs to a lovely young family that lives on a real live farm! When they first moved into this split level home it was old, dated and had a tiny kitchen closed off from the dining room and living room. They love to entertain their family and friends, and wanted a large open concept space they could fill with their loved ones. We gutted the main floor, added brand new windows and brightened up the space with soft white walls. We grounded the main floor with a beautiful oiled white oak hardwood, and much to my delight these clients love color and agreed to this beautiful shade of green for the cabinets! Black accents, custom wood slated open shelves in the island, black lighting and floating shelves tamed down the bold hue. We wanted a clean fuss-free countertop, so we went with a marble like quartz with a subtle tone on tone pattern. A budget friendly shiplap backsplash installed in a vertical pattern added in texture and warmth, and a vintage pink runner completes the look.
