Inspired by a trip to Laos during Boun Lai Heua Fai, the Festival of Lights marking the end of Buddhist Lent, the work draws from the atmosphere of candlelit temples, quiet processions of monks, and illuminated floats released into the Mekong River. While there, I hand-dyed the fabric using sappan wood native to the region and used iron and soy paste to sketch the monks directly onto the cloth before hand-embroidering the piece with silk sourced in Laos. Through its materials and process, the work carries both the imagery and physical presence of the place itself, balancing traditional handwork with a more contemporary presentation.

Framed in a contemporary gold frame with white mat and ready to hang.

Layering paint, fiber, and imagery to explore femininity, memory, and growth.

I've always been a maker. Long before I considered myself an artist, I was drawn to yarn, fabric, color, and the satisfaction of creating something with my hands. After a career in accounting, I found my way back to those instincts and began building a studio practice rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and material exploration.

My work spans painting, fiber, and mixed media, often weaving together flowers, figures, textiles, and layered imagery. I'm interested in the stories we carry, the ways we grow and change, and the tension between vulnerability and strength.

I hope my work invites people to slow down, look closely, and discover something new each time they return to it.
