Seamlessly bridging centuries of imperial elegance with contemporary interior design, this Museum Edition Qing Dynasty Yongzheng Style Famille Rose "Bamboo Announcing Peace" Imperial Globular Vase (Zhu Bao Ping An Tianqiuping) is a masterclass in traditional Oriental porcelain artistry. Designed to serve as a profound visual anchor, its generous spherical belly, poised cylindrical neck, luminous jade-like porcelain texture, and vibrant Famille Rose botanical and avian accents bring a sophisticated aesthetic that effortlessly elevates both modern Western living spaces and refined Eastern studies.
The Art of Reproduction, Provenance & Lineage
This piece is born from a profound dedication to preserving intangible cultural heritage. Rooted in a family lineage descending directly from the official imperial kilns (Guan Yao) of the Song Dynasty, our co-designers Yuchen and Judy, alongside the master artisans, meticulously reproduce museum-level masterpieces. This specific vessel is a faithful homage to the celebrated Qing Dynasty Yongzheng Imperial Court prototypes treasured in prestigious collections, capturing the supreme regal aesthetics, poetic naturalism, and serene grandeur of the classical Yongzheng era.
Traditional Imperial Kiln Craftsmanship, Famille Rose Mastery & 1320°C Firing
Crafted strictly according to ancient imperial kiln protocols (Gu Fa Chuan Cheng), this globular vase represents the zenith of traditional ceramic mastery. Beginning with carefully selected natural mineral raw materials, master artisans shape the vessel through precision hand wheel-throwing (La Pei) followed by meticulous hand-trimming and paring (Li Pei). Every structural detail is refined to perfection—from the smoothly rounded, fluid rim at the mouth to the flat, luminous, and finely polished base, which is gently chamfered along the edge to rest smoothly on fine furniture without scratching tabletops. The body is first vitrified in a high-temperature kiln firing at 1320°C (2408°F), yielding a dense, resonant, and luminous white porcelain canvas. Master painters then utilize the hallmark Famille Rose (Fencai) overglaze technique: applying an opaque "Glass White" (Boli Bai) base layer and building up multiple graded washes of enamel to achieve remarkable three-dimensional depth and soft, pastel luminosity. Blending meticulous fine-brushwork (Gongbi) with expressive freehand strokes (Xieyi), the vessel undergoes a secondary low-temperature kiln firing, locking in lifelike delicacy, warm luster, and enduring collector value.
The Motif — "Bamboo Announcing Peace" & Auspicious Quails ("Zhu Bao Ping An" & "An Ju Le Ye")
Sweeping across the radiant white glaze of the globular body and extending gracefully up the neck is one of the most celebrated auspicious themes in imperial court art—the harmonious garden vignette of "Bamboo Announcing Peace" (Zhu Bao Ping An):
- Auspicious Quails ("An Chun" — Peace & Harmonious Living): Rendered with extraordinary feather-by-feather Gongbi precision, lifelike quails animate the landscape in dynamic poses—some resting serenely beside garden stones, some playfully interacting in pairs, and one taking flight with outstretched wings. In classical iconography, the quail ("An") is a revered homophone for peace and stability, symbolizing safe harbor, domestic harmony, and prosperous living (An Ju Le Ye).
- Emerald Bamboo, Narcissus & Craggy Scholar's Rocks: Rugged, perforated blue-and-green scholar's rocks (Hu Shi) anchor the composition as emblems of longevity and steadfastness. Surrounding the rocks, slender emerald bamboo stalks and delicate narcissus blossoms sway gracefully in the breeze, invoking the classic blessing of "Bamboo Announcing Peace" and pure, noble virtue, accented by lush peony blooms and vibrant red berries of heavenly bamboo.
- Ascending Blossoming Branches on the Neck: Growing organically from the shoulder, gnarled ochre-toned branches adorned with delicate yellow plum blossoms extend diagonally up the slender neck, uniting the vessel's form and painting into a fluid, breathing composition brimming with poetic vitality.
