This original hand-carved sculpture is rendered in brucite, an exceptionally rare magnesium hydroxide mineral seldom seen in sculptural work. At 12 inches tall, the piece takes the form of a soaring teardrop — broad and grounded at the base, rising to a sharp elegant point — a form simultaneously suggestive of a flame, a seed, a raindrop frozen mid-fall, or a leaf caught in wind.
What makes this piece truly singular is the stone itself. Brucite's surface presents an extraordinary natural mosaic of olive green, amber gold, burnt orange, charcoal grey, and muted rust — a color palette and patterning that no other stone produces.
