The REI vase emphasises irregularity – the random organic cut embodies the unconventional approach to women's fashion that the Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo's brand has continued to promote to this day. In 1969, she founded her label CDG (Comme des Garçons), under which she presented collections of “boyfriend” clothes for women. She was strongly opposed to the baring of the female body, which she considered boring, and created fashion for confident and independent women.
The HERO•INE collection includes seven vases, each with a unique cut, in several colours and five sizes to respond to the varied needs of floral arrangements. Each vase pays tribute in name and character to strong and courageous women – heroines who have left their distinctive mark on art, culture, or society and celebrates their unique inner strengths. They are united by courage, desire, and a passion for life.
