The Concept
Inspired by the legendary collections of Prince Kung's Mansion, this Horseshoe Armchair Trio represents a masterly evolution of Ming Dynasty aesthetics by designers Yuchen and Judy. Drawing from the "Gong Wang Fu" prototype famously documented by scholar Gustav Ecke, this set embodies the traditional integrity of the Chinese literati. It is designed to anchor modern Western executive spaces through a strategic "Aesthetic Conflict"—using minimalist industrial lines and cold materials to highlight the warmth and structural purity of the Ming form.
The Craft and Material
The set is meticulously executed in Royal Crimson Flamewood, a rare timber celebrated for its molten magma-like red and black grain. Possessing a profound density that sinks in water, the wood offers a "Sea-Calming" presence, where every inch reflects the heavy, high-density fiber of a true heirloom piece.
The Ornamentation: Features a hand-carved Han Chinese "Shou" (Longevity) emblem on the backsplat, symbolizing enduring vitality and scholarly virtue.
The Joinery: 100% handcrafted using traditional nail-free mortise and tenon construction, ensuring structural integrity and a seamless aesthetic for generations.
