Experience the architectural elegance of the Ming Dynasty. A timeless legacy, breathing in your living space.
The Concept
Inspired by the "Following Form, Creating Image" exhibition at the Tsinghua University Art Museum, this Horseshoe Armchair Trio represents a masterly evolution of Ming Dynasty aesthetics. Designers Yuchen and Judy performed an exhaustive study of classical literati furniture to achieve a masterly balance between historical scholarly rigor and contemporary sculptural fluidity. Unlike the ornate gaudiness of palace styles, this set celebrates the "refined elegance" favored by the intellectual elite—a sanctuary of strength and quietude.
The Craft and Material
The set is meticulously executed in Imperial Midnight Black-Gold Wood, a legendary timber of sink-in-water density that locks in the everlasting value of a true legacy piece. The surface is a deep, obsidian black, revealing cold, crystalline gold glimmers within the grain when caught by the light.
The Dragon Motif: The backrest features a central Coiled Dragon (Panlong) surrounded by auspicious clouds, hand-chiseled from a single thick plank using precise pierced carving techniques.
The Seat: Traditional woven rattan seats provide superior breathability and a natural textural contrast to the heavy, dense hardwood, achieving a visual balance of lightness and weight.
The Structure: Exclusively hand-joined with a comprehensive, nail-free mortise and tenon structure, ensuring permanent structural integrity through traditional craftsmanship.

Please note that the deep luster of the Midnight Black-Gold wood may shift slightly in tone depending on ambient lighting conditions and digital display settings.
