Designed and meticulously researched by Yuchen and Judy, this pure mortise-and-tenon architectural model is a faithful recreation of one of the greatest structural masterpieces in human history: The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, or Temple of Heaven.
Historically, this monumental altar was the ultimate focal point of the imperial empire, where emperors conversed with the heavens to secure agricultural prosperity. Its design is a physical manifestation of cosmic philosophy. The intricate pillar network within the structure brilliantly calculates time itself—representing the four seasons, the twelve months, and the twenty-four solar terms—all achieved purely through structural physics without a single iron nail.
Our studio's deep expertise in traditional Chinese joinery has previously defined our acclaimed collections of Ming and Qing Dynasty reproduction furniture, including our signature mortise-and-tenon Taishi chairs and precision-crafted cabinets. We have now applied this uncompromising standard to monumental architecture.
This model is a living testament to intangible cultural heritage. It is constructed from over 2,500 individual pure wood pieces, interlocking perfectly through traditional joinery. Each component is individually hand-painted to honor the iconic, majestic color palette of the original architecture. From raw material to the final masterpiece, an error-free assembly requires approximately six months of dedicated, artisanal craftsmanship.
The piece also features a carefully integrated ambient LED lighting system, illuminating the intricate interior structures and transforming the model into a breathtaking, cinematic focal point for any high-end space. The model offers dual power options: it can be illuminated wirelessly via its rechargeable battery or plugged in directly for continuous display. The ambient LED system is calibrated to a warm white glow by default to highlight the natural wood grain, with bespoke lighting colors available upon request.
