The Sherman is a travertine and oak side table, a low, quiet table that lets the material carry it. It is built from two materials that warm to each other rather than compete, the travertine given the lead and the oak set quietly beneath.
Titanium travertine shares the layered, sedimentary character of its Roman cousin in a cooler register, its banding running from silver through to charcoal rather than warm beige. It reads as quiet and contemporary, a travertine at home in monochrome and pared-back rooms. The oak answers in kind: solid European oak smoked to a near-black brown, its grain still legible beneath the finish, so the travertine and oak read as two tones of a single warmth. Each top is cut from its own block, so no two of these travertine and oak side tables share the same figure.
The oak does the work of holding the travertine up. Two solid oak boards interlock at right angles into a cross-leg base, one passing cleanly through the other, the joinery left in full view as the piece's single gesture of craft. Stone meets wood with nothing worked in between them.
As a travertine and oak side table it settles a space rather than crowding it, at home beside a sofa or a favourite chair. Like every Lebanto piece, the Sherman is made to order in Cantù, in the historic heart of Lombardy's furniture district, from a curated palette of full-slab stone, solid timber, and premium Italian glass.
