Rift-sawn White OAK is very popular with many of my clients. Here are a set of vanities done mostly in hardwood and with a unique 'beading' detail; Actually these beads are milled out of solid hardwood with great attention to the various reveals. The drawer fronts have similar detail and done in hardwood over a field which is grain-matched veneered fronts. Side panels are frame and panel and done in similar veneered plywood for a matching effect. Done in collaboration with one of my favorite decorator/designers https://www.instagram.com/stumpshed_living/ Of course this could be done in other materials, dimensions and even formats (ie dressers, sideboards, credenza(s), etc....

Wooden Imagination is a design-build workshop producing all styles of custom and selective off-the-shelf pieces as well as artistic and sculptural designs and various open/closed turned vessels

Mike Fister has been designing building furniture all of his life. After a long career in high tech, I concentrate mostly on furniture commissions, custom cabinetry, and explore a myriad of turned vessels and art objects. Operating from a dedicated commercial workshop, I prefer to design from concepts and use precious materials that can be hand finished (as opposed to painted material) and selected to allow the natural grain of the wood to incorporate into the objects. The collage above represents a very small cross-section ranging from musical instruments, natural slabs, turnings, and art nouveau. My furniture interests range from traditional to contemporary and incorporate mixed materials like glass and integrated lighting at all types of scale.
