I research why human behavior drives us to create, explore and define ourselves uniquely, then I create artwork.
Sabre Esler (b. Cleveland, OH) She creates environments exploring natural and man made systems that we use to live in today’s complex digital world. She has been creating paintings, sculptures, installations, and prints that are about connection, communication, and human condition for over 30 years.
Esler received her MFA from SCAD, Atlanta (2015) and her BFA from Miami University, Oxford OH (1987). Esler has exhibited in fourteen solo exhibits in, Charleston, Knoxville, Boston, Stanford, Atlanta. Her latest solo exhibit was during Venice Biennale in 2024. Museums such as Alexandria Museum, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Miami University, Oglethorpe University, SCAD Museum of Art, Valdosta State Museum, Agnes Scott College, Georgia Southern University, and Georgia State University have exhibited her work. Non-profits such as Atlanta Contemporary, Chastain Art Center, and Glynn Visual Arts Center, Greenville Center for Creative Arts have hosted her work.
Her work can be found in the permanent collections of Georgia State University Perimeter College, Miami University, Tufts University, The Federal Reserve Bank, Fulton County Arts Council, City of Atlanta, and corporate collections of Acoustic, Atlantic Capital Bank, Boston Consulting Group, Cognia, Georgia Power, Georgian Bank, Hilton Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, Lure Real Estate Gallery, Dubai, UAE, Oglethorpe Bank, NCR/VOYIX, Ritz Carlton, SunTrust Bank, Trammel Crow, and Woodruff Arts Center to name a few. Esler held residencies at Atlanta Contemporary, Atlanta Public Library, Hambidge Fellow, and Officina Stamperia del Notaio in Sicily. Esler teaches and makes work in Atlanta, GA.
